Plot: Gon, Killua, Kurapika, and Leorio are out in the forest during the competition- Killua, being the astute boy that he is, knows that Leorio likes Kurapika, so he kisses him to make Leorio jealous- it works, and Leorio manages to woo his friend, despite Kurapika being reticent and a little uptight.
Meanwhile, Killua’s real feelings are for Gon, who he admits to liking- but Gon is a bit too young to understand.

Plot: Gon goes to pick up Killua, who is still asleep- he's embarrassed that Gon would find him with morning wood, and tells his friend to wait outside. They walk to school, and Killua's mind is still distracted, especially when Gon offers to give Killua his "wiener" at lunch.
Finally, Killua cracks and tries to kiss Gon, but they're interrupted by Aruka.
Killua blackmails Aruka into going away, and he and Gon walk home together.
In the second story Gon gets a candy that's to be given to the person you want to be with forever- he wants to give it to Killua, but Aruka gets it first. Luckily Killua shows up and the situation is explained to him. He takes the candy and puts it in Gon's mouth, then takes it with a kiss.

Regardless, when left alone they're very sweet, and Killua admits to liking his friend. Gon agrees and kisses Killua, but the latter is a bit more mature (a bit TOO much for Gon).

Haunted by nigh terrors, he approaches Leorio to make better memories, and gives himself up. Leorio accepts, but is also bothered by what it means.

Plot: Gon is impulsive and isn't shy about his feelings toward Killua. As always, this makes Leorio feel uneasy over Kurapika, and wants to make a move on him but is either too hesitant or gets rejected because he can't express himself properly.
Later, he's watching Kurapika sleep, but instead of doing anything, just watches him, and thinks on his sentiments.

Plot: Hisoka and Illumi are talking about animals, Illumi says he likes rats best; Killua comes in and Hisoka admires his cute features. Killua is told by his brother that he'll be rewarded for an assassination job. As his little brother leaves, Illumi says he's a cute beast.
Later Gon notices Killua is bleeding, the latter shrugs it off and licks his wound. Gon tells him to stop.
When Killua returns Illumi asks which reward he would like; a kiss or cheese. Killua picks the cheese, Illumi thinks he really is an animal.
Back with Gon Killua starts talking about how he views people; his weird ideas about rewards make Gon feel awkward, but he thinks he understands that because Killua is so strong he has a low opinion of weak people. Gon asks if he's happy and the questions startles Killua. Suddenly they realize they must turn in, and Killua offers his bed. Gon notices how small it is- but says it's better for one person to have a small bed, and that'll make it interesting.
They talk about Killua's nature, and the latter thinks back to admitting to his brother that he was becoming friends with Gon. Gon tells Killua that he's not an animal; Killua gets emotional over his insistence.
Comic two, Killua and Kurapika are talking about Leorio's medicine. Killua nonchalantly lights a cigarette, and Kurapika gets angry, telling him it's bad for him. As revenge he starts chewing apart a plant. Kurapika asks what the heck he's doing, and Killua thinks back to his brother making him drink a cup of sweet tea, which he has now made.
Kurapika asks if it's really okay to drink such a thing, and Killua starts pushing it on him. Eventually he resorts to drinking some then kissing Kurapika to make him drink it.
He says not to worry- it won't kill him.
It then changes to Killua walking with Leorio, and Killua thinking about his past, that he won't become like his brother.

Plot: Hisoka says Gon's his, and that Illumi better keep his mouth shut. He says he already knew that and gave his opinion- but maybe his face gave him away?
But his expression is blank. That's problematic, Hisoka says- maybe he should try laughing. Still Illumi's face stays the same.
Second story, Killua has just dispatched people, causing Kurapika to have bad flashbacks. Leorio asks him what's happening, but Kurpika can't help but think there is a similarity between him an the younger boy.
Kurapika suddenly awakes, to find Killua leaving. Leorio says to let him be, but Kurapika grabs him, and tells him to face him; Killua says he must return. He says his brother said life for assassins isn't about feeling, it's about killing. He doesn't think of the people he's killed, or the wounds he has. The bleak outlook horrifies Kurapika, and he says that isn't how Killua really is.
He says Killua cares about Gon, who has such a different outlook to what he says- Killua must have a sliver of morality.
The idea makes Killua rethink what he believes- he cares for Gon, Gon is strong, could it be that his friend is more important to him than his brother? That Gon is actually right? He keeps saying he doesn't understand it- he can't understand a person like Gon.
Kurapika hugs him, and commiserates with him, saying that being with people is good. Even when Killua tries to argue that he shouldn't see Gon, that he's not like them Kurapika says that Gon is Killua's friend, a good influence when he's lost.
Killua thinks that he's always wanted a friend- he does still want to be Gon's friend, but he doesn't understand it still. Kurapika's words have jolted him, and it's upsetting. They agree that they want to protect Gon. But Killua sees his brother and has to battle with what he's been taught.
Illumi asks Hisoka who Kurapika is- he says another of Gon's friends, one with a nice face. Maybe Killua is Gon's number one enemy?
Killua thinks he understands his brothers thinking- that his heart will always be in their home, and that he will kill his friends.
Kurapika thinks of how similar they are, that despite Killua's age he doesn't have innocence. He's snapped out of though by Leorio, who says he's acting odd, and asks if he's ok. He's not- he doesn't understand.

Plot: Leorio and Kurapika have met up again, after parting ways. They are at the station.
Leorio asks if Kurapika has bought his airship ticket yet; and suggests they do so. Kurapika agrees, if it doesn't take too long. They discuss what their plans are, and Kurapika says he wants to find work. Leorio admits that even though they've only been together one month, it feels like a lot longer- maybe they don't have anything left to discuss. The latter agrees about the feeling.
They watch the crowd for a bit, and, realizing he may not see Kurapika for a while, Leorio suddenly admits his feelings- he says he likes Kurapika, not just as a friend, but more.
Kurapika is quite embarrassed by the proclamation, even though he already knew his friend's sentiments. But the fact Leorio admitted it touches him, and he rips up his ticket, agreeing to accompany Leorio instead.
Leorio asks if he can take this as accepting his feelings, and Kurapika says yes, so long as he doesn't do anything lecherous. Leorio bites back that, in this situation what he does is normal. Kurapika says that's why people say he's perverted- especially since he's so honest.
Leorio backs down, and says “I got it, princess”, and before Kurapika can say anything, kisses him. The end is Kurapika's thoughts, that he wants to be this happy for a long time.
